Pleasure gets a chance to say,
"Pain may not do you much good."
Sacrifice is on its way
Doing only what it could.

I like the reflection of both photo and words. Two sides, always. (K)

Lovely pictures, Frank. I like the balance in this poem – I suspect both are inevitable.

You’ve summed up Mardi Gras neatly, Frank: the two sides of carnival and life.

I believe in sacrifice and fasting but not in a set season for them. More like along the lines of ‘pray without ceasing.’

I agree. It should be pray without ceasing. One can skip Mardi Gras. Thank you, Amaya!

Lovely pictures. 🙂
Isn’t it so that our lives are a tension of opposites – pain and pleasure; sacrificing and receiving?

We likely need those opposites. Thank you, Imelda!
