See how water tests the shore Teasing its resistance, Resistance to becoming more. See how water tests the shore? Be the change that you’re made for. Change with fresh persistence. Be like water. Test the shore. Tease away resistance.
Linked to dVerse Poetics. Merril is hosting with the theme of impermanence.
Also linked to dVerse Meeting the Bar where I am hosting with the theme of the triolet poetry form.

I think that every wave will make a small change… over time there will be a lot of change.

I wonder if the shore resists being more or is afraid of being made less?

I don’t know. As I think back on the poem, I wonder what I was trying to say. Thank you, Jane!

Water carves canyons and sculpts sea stacks. It also batters beaches and floods lowlands. With global warming in effect, I think Water has a lot more to prove.

You’ve captured the waves beautifully in your triolet, Frank. I love the phrase ‘water tests the shore / Teasing its resistance’ and the idea of ‘resistance to becoming more’.

It seems natural to resist what would wash over us, when we could just as easily be a part of it. Thank you for giving me something to think about, Frank.

Profound words Frank. Makes you wonder- does the water test the shore, or does the shore test the water? I think both could be true.

I love that, “Be like water”. If everything on life was so flexible and easily accepting of change, wouldn’t it be even more pleasurable than it already is?

I really like this one. The beginning, “See how water tests the shore.” ties in so well with the ending. I also like the challenge in it to grow beyond where we are. Well done.
