The End

From Behind

The good thing is I can forget
The tasks I’ll leave undone.
Another whom I haven’t met
May stop to pick up one.

It does not matter in the end
When time looks frail and tossed.
Let’s make amends, my passing friends,
Since only love’s not lost.

  1. Excellent. Great work. I love the flow of this.
I’m wondering if you need some punctuation at the beginning of the second stanza though. Should ‘it does not matter in the end’ be followed with a full stop, for example? Or does it not matter when time looks frail and tossed?

  2. Well said. Makes me sad because of having to deal with some endings just now. Interesting photographic perspective, from behind including the flower and her shadow.

  3. “In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”–the Beatles. Thanks for the poetic pep talk, brother–another killer image too. A little kindness, a smile, a hug–it couldn’t hurt.

  4. This is beautiful and has. great meaning and message. Be friends make up, it’s not worth fighting for, for in the end it’s our friends and loved ones who matter. The loved ones we did not make up with, we can’t apologize too when we’re gone.

    1. I liked the phrase “GreeN SWeLL CoLors”. I read somewhere that parts of plants go toward the light (leaves) and other parts grow away from light on purpose (roots). Plants have a dual response to light. That’s what the phrase brought to mind. Thanks, Fred!
