Double Exposure

Going From Green to Yellow

In order to get a double exposure for K’lee and Dale’s Cosmic Photo Challenge, I installed GIMP. I am still going through their tutorials.

The top image is what I started with. The contrast between the green and yellow leaves already seem like a double exposure. The bottom image I’ve titled, “Proof That I Don’t Know What I’m Doing”, but I do kind of like that bright yellow near the center.

  1. Great post, Frank – I love the title – some times, you have to go with what works.

I’ve used GIMP. I find some of the features very intuitive and some just make my head hurt. In other words, yes, just like Photoshop 🙂

    1. I don’t use a photo editing tool except for Paint on my computer which is good for resizing. I usually shrink photos so they don’t take up much disk space on WordPress. But I keep telling myself I would like to do some those exotic things I see people do with photos. Thank you, Dan!

  2. I don´t know if it is my imagination, but the first pic with its more brilliant yellow looks like summer, while the more matted yellow of the second suggests autumn with its falling yelow leaves to me.

    1. Last week I photographed that same tree. All of the leaves were still green. Yesterday I was surprised to see only few intermediate leaves. Either they were all yellow or all green. It looked odd, but interesting–like autumn. Thank you, Danik!
