Feel the Heat

Trees, Water, Heat and Clouds 
Heat on hotter heat and water on my brow
I walk and wonder why I left the condo
sunny, sweaty, ever smiling anyhow.

I don’t know if you can feel the heat in these photos, but after a few minutes of an hour walk, I felt it. This Thursday I am featuring tercets, especially like those Dante wrote for the Divine Comedy, but when I found out how difficult these were having not only 3 metered lines that rhymed but with no more nor less than 33 syllables for each tercet, I wondered if I could write one. Feeling the heat suddenly the above poem popped out. And I smiled (with relief and gratitude).

  6. Heat on steamy heat… is what we have been having for the past couple of weeks. I live just two hours north of you Frank, so I took the liberty of changing a word in your poem to fit my conditions. Still the same number of syllables 🙂 Love it and the photos. Stay safe down there.

  10. It’s good to read something lighthearted, and you convey the heat very well. It’s cooled a little where I am over the last couple of days. I’ve been enjoying the respite from the sweltering sun.

  11. Well….having just come in from our daily walk, putting cold cloths on my neck and face to cool off, sweating bloody bullets, I can certainly relate to this poem!
