Dale offers the prompt “the big freeze” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.
I was going to get some ice cubes out of the refrigerator when I thought I’ve been through plenty of freezing weather before. Thankfully it always warmed up.
Here are two scenes of freezing weather from northeastern Illinois.

What great reminders. I lived in Syracuse NY for 20 years. It can be beautiful but always thankful for the warm up.
Blessings for a stunning day in paradise.

The snow can be beautiful, but I do prefer warmer climates. Thank you, Michael!

I get cold just looking at the pictures of the big freeze. Here in New Jersey we havent seen the snow yet and I’m grateful. The pictures do remind me though of those days many many years ago of mending fences on the college farm in northern Indiana and that cold wind sweeping across those miles and miles of treeless corn fields. Hang in there for a couple months and we’ll see the daffodils again. Thanks Frank

It does get cold in northwest Indiana. I worked on the lawns at St Joseph’s College when we were there. Thank you, Dan!

Love the way the snow has a sandy texture about it 🤍

As a lifelong southern-Californian, I might have to go with taking a photo of ice from the freezer. Haha, thanks for the idea. 🙂

We’re now in South Carolina. I hope the only ice we see here comes from the freezer. Thank you, Jenna!

This makes me shiver just looking, but so beautiful! We’re headed for snow this week in the mid-Atlantic so they say., turning to slush later in the day. Ugh.

It is rainy and overcast here. Although snow is more beautiful, the warmth is more consoling. Thank you, Dora!
