Pick a Color – Snow White

I remember falling snow
When flakes of white put on a show.

Looking back on my photos for something with a specific color I recalled these walks through Techny Park in Northbrook, Illinois, in November during the first snowfall. I love taking photos while such a snow is falling. It is peaceful and left me with a smile.

Now I Can See

Failures come. They clear the table,
Wipe the surface clean.
In the distance, true and stable,
Something new is seen.

What I thought could never be
Is now the only way I see.

Magic

Magic through the wizard’s hand
Waves dimly. We don’t understand,
Wondering how we got here,
Trembling short of breath with fear.
There’s that forest, dense and dark.
Demons hide. Beware their bark.

Expose them. Choose and let life be.
Reject what’s dark for majesty.

Linked to Cosmic Photo Challenge where Dale offers the theme of “inside”. Although the dove was technically outside, it seemed as if she just came in. That was Kiki our cat with her head inside that cup.

From Winter to Spring or Dusk to Dawn

May the winter not last long.
I thought of spring while walking.
When there's music soon comes song
Melodiously talking.

I’ll look with hope to find you there
Smiling garlanded aware.

Tercets

I don’t remember when I left that word.
It must have been upon some beach. My breath
oppresses. Were I silent like a bird

I might have flown securely on my way.
I left that word abandoning its sound
And hope the sand will keep its harm at bay.

Years ago it filled my heart. I sung,
But now I would forget what passed my lips
Repenting, if I may, to soothe my tongue.

Up Close

All the details I have missed
Are hiding what stays true
Adding pleasure to the kiss
Of life made ever new.

Fruit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5: 22-23

Gifts may come and gifts may go, but life is best when all
Like trees bear fruit of joy to share in peace and self-control.
Taste how patient kindness is 
With love and goodness, gentle bliss
As faithfulness through righteousness fulfills the ancient law.

Taboo

Chaos out of order
Looking for some cake.
Virus comes with market crash
Beyond the cliff down to the splash 
Into the burning lake.

Order out of chaos
Victorious and true.
Beyond the tribulations find
Sanctity to shield your mind
With everything you do.

Spring Has Sprung

The Spring is stirring from this cold dead white,
From dark beneath oppressive night.
The searching sun reveals how bright
And fresh is morning air.
May I walk within such light
Where mercy soothes, where tears turn right,
And humble hope plants flowers everywhere.
