Inner guidance, help me see
Right across the sky.
May what’s best above come true
Even what I didn’t do
Even when I didn’t try.

Much of me’s a home for bugs,
The kind that I can’t see.
They’re in, about and all around.
They’re happy in the home they’ve found:
Their home sweet home is me.

Cars are cool but not like clouds.
They’re not like birds or trees.
They’re not like anything I know
Though cool and fast and off they go
While birds enjoy the breeze.

There’s much around me I don’t see
Even when I try.
We’re shown it all, full-colored, bright.
Whatever’s hiding in this light
Is true like pure blue sky.

Forgiveness is the food of love
That patience hopes to bring.
We eat while daily dreaming of
How peace would let us sing.

Angelic voices I would hear.
It’d comfort me to know they’re near,
But what I see are birds and trees.
The longed for songs are sung through these.

A sidewalk is a street for feet
With one for cars nearby.
My mind takes detours off and on
And sometimes when its good and gone
I let my spirit fly.

Dreams make sense in pieces.
They show up every night.

They shine their guiding light.
One day I may listen
And try to understand.
I’ll dream until you find me where
You can take my hand.
