Loss

Even when it all is lost
And one must start again
Another birth and crumbs are tossed
And joy comes walking in.

Fern Looking Down

Opposites

Sorrow from the clearing goes.
Joy there lost today.
Rejection grips as sadness grows.
The woods of darkness stay.

I’ll follow sorrow, if I may.
It wanders mindfully.
“Don’t waste your time,” the wise may say,
“Those woods are dark. You’ll lose your way.”
Forgiveness strengthens me.

Upside Down Reflection of Right Side Up Reality

Running in the Rain

Splashing water hangs tightly in drops
Running wildly until splashing stops.
Run and know that this now
Is entangled somehow
With more joy when the pain smiles and pops.
