Royal Terns, the Moon and the Sunrise

Terns wonder what I’m looking at
As I return their stare.
They do not move. They’re in some groove.
I love their goofy hair.

Venus shines but in the Sun.
Mars and Jupiter
Play with the Moon, that crescent Lune,
While wakened seagulls stir.

Waves keep up their wavy stuff.
They lick sand smooth near me.
The patient Sun begins its run
With birds and Moon and sea.

Moon — #writephoto

Some would say they know the Moon.
They’ve data they can show,
But when they look
And close the book,
What is it that they know?

Beyond the Objective Surface

What’s real does not bounce particles
Nor swim with random waves.
Its surface swings an open door,
Predictably behaves.

The real’s beyond the object.
Love lifts it, lets us see,
Sustaining every now we know
While veiled majestically.

Monotherapy

The pills I pop are not enough
To pop me out of here.
Addictions though prefer the pop
And that is what I fear.

Text: “Monotherapy” is a new word for me and I am not on any pills. I am linking this to dVerse Open Link Night. Toni is hosting.

Their Mysterious Eyes — #writephoto

The arc’s reflection made an eye.
They laughed when I asked, “Can it see?”
What’s looking at us walking by
May laugh and measure differently.
The dark might have its ways to know
A brighter truth that it won’t show.
Let us walk. I do not mind.
I hope those eyes like what they find.

Stones

The fantasy of stony stuff
Is that it counts more real
Than anything that we can know
By feeling how we feel.

Love

Life finds milder melodies.
Only laughter sings.
Virtue wipes away decay.
Even frowns grow wings.

Butterfly Feeling

In Spring the heart-throb butterfly
Makes lovers stop to touch and sigh
While others watch them passing by
Excited without asking why.

Though it may be a silly thing
When butterflies are fluttering
It’s better than what Winters bring
When frozen hope lacks warmth to sing.

The Holy Is What’s Really Real

They’re commonplace, lovers’ eyes,
And take us deep where rhythms rise
To sanity, a holy place,
Re-syncing hearts to true surprise.

Odd theories claim the human race
Has selfish eyes and lacks all grace.
Such idols have no depth to see
Beyond the surface of a face.

But everywhere there’s mystery
Much deeper than it needs to be
And deeper than a smallish brain
Since love does not move mindlessly.

Those in love should not complain.
The Lover’s backing all love’s pain
And joy as every lover tries
To hold what’s real without the lies.
